WILMINGTON — Bernice Jenny Edmonds of Wilmington, NC, a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, entered into eternal rest on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 94.
Bernice is survived by her three daughters, Colleen Johnson and husband Brad, Bonnie Mavra, Patti Delehanty-Moran and husband Mike and three stepdaughters, Charlanne Osoba, Susan Edmonds and Nancy Hedman and their husbands. As well as, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Bernice was preceded in death by her two husbands, Daniel V. Delehanty and Charles H. Edmonds, daughter Jane D. Cookingham, two son-in-law’s, Miroslav Mavra and John Cookingham and grandson Christopher D. Delehanty.
Bernice Jenny Sherow was born on November 2nd, 1930 to George A. Sherow and Louise C. Hopps in Poughkeepsie, NY. She graduated in 1949 from Roosevelt High School, after high school she was employed at Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. Bernice married Daniel Delehanty, a Korean U.S. Army Veteran, in June of 1951, they were together until his death in October of 1981. Bernice then went on to marry Charles Edmonds, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, in 1982 until his death in 2003.
After the death of her second husband Bernice moved to Wilmington, NC to enjoy time with her daughters and grandchildren.
At this time the memorial services are to be announced as the family grieves in private. Thoughts and prayers are graciously welcomed.
