WILMINGTON — John “Jack” Norman Broadbridge, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Sunday January 26, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on May 5, 1939, in Danbury, Connecticut, Jack lived a full and rewarding life, reaching the age of 85 years.

Jack began his professional journey as a Manufacturer of Printed Circuit Boards at Teknicircuits, Inc., in his hometown of Danbury, Connecticut. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to become the owner of Belvedere Country Club in Hampstead, North Carolina, where his passion for golf flourished. Known for his love of the sport, Jack spent many joyful hours playing golf and creating custom golf clubs, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family alike.

A former member of the Cape Fear Country Club, Jack was well-regarded in his community for his warm demeanor and dedication to his pursuits. Though he did not seek accolades, his life was a testament to hard work, commitment, and the simple pleasures found in his interests and relationships.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeff Broadbridge, and his parents. He leaves behind a legacy of love shared with his wife of 64 years, Sandy Backer Broadbridge. He is also survived by his daughter Janet Broadbridge Roache, his son Bill Broadbridge, and his cherished grandchildren: David and Matthew Roache; Jon, Pat, and Ali Broadbridge; Peter and Lydia Broadbridge. Jack’s joy was further enriched by his great-granddaughter, Lucy Broadbridge.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. During this time, those who knew and loved Jack are invited to gather, reflect, and celebrate his life and the many fond memories he leaves behind.

Jack’s presence will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
