WILMINGTON — Frances Imogene Carver, born on August 10, 1934, in Orange County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at the age of 90 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and faith, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire her family and friends for generations.
Imogene dedicated many years of her life as a cafeteria worker in the school system, where she nourished not only the bodies but also the spirits of countless children. Her nurturing nature and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Her life was firmly rooted in her love for her family. She found immense joy in their company and cherished every moment spent with them. Imogene was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 66 years, Glen Carver. Together, they built a home filled with love and warmth, creating countless memories with their three children: Telly Carver of Wilmington, Tammy Carver of Wilmington, and Tina Anderson and husband, Keith of Efland, NC.
Her faith as a Baptist was an integral part of her identity, guiding her through life’s journey with grace and resilience. Imogene is preceded in death by her parents, William Bennett and Eugenia Allen Bennett, and several siblings. Her spirit lives on in her surviving sister, Ulma Burch of Durham, NC, and her cherished grandchildren, Wesley Parker and Laura Anderson. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.
Although Imogene did not seek accolades, her true achievement lay in the lives she touched with her gentle heart and unwavering support. Her presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
