SUNSET BEACH — Walter “Walt” Leslie Taylor, Jr., 89, of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Walt was born in Natick, Massachusetts on June 27, 1935, and was a son of the late Walter Leslie Taylor, Sr. and Ruby Veronica Morey Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracianne Taylor deWolfe and his brother, Richard J. Taylor.
Walt was a lifelong member of the catholic faith and attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Ashland, Massachusetts and former Grand Knight. Walt retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He had a love for woodworking and was very proud of the pieces he made. Walt and his wife loved attending classic car shows with their 1956 T-bird. He was an avid golfer and cherished golfing with his grandchildren and golf buddies. Walt loved watching his hometown teams, the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics and the New England Patriots. His dry sense of humor, pranks and inside jokes with his grandkids are memories they will cherish always. Walt was known as a kind, caring and giving man, he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Walt loved spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife and soulmate of nearly seventy years, Patricia Walter Taylor; his daughters, Suzanne Taylor-Parent and husband Joseph, Leslianne Taylor-Pratt and husband Robert; his grandchildren Alyssa, Ryan, Melissa, Alexander, Hannah, Taylor, Tucker, Tia, and Tanner: his great-grandchildren Alexis and Able; a sister Janet Clark and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are being planned and will be held in Massachusetts at a later date. No services are planned in North Carolina.
