WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Kipp Glazier on January 3, 2025, at the age of 56.
Better known as “Kip” to friends and family alike, Patrick was a gentle and kind soul, whose service touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his compassion, his empathy for the downtrodden, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.
Kip was born on December 15, 1968, to Patricia Guyton Glazier and the late Samuel Martin Glazier Sr. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Dunn Glazier, with whom he shared a life filled with love and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Macy “Gigi” Glazier, who was the light of his life and his greatest source of joy. As a devoted father, Kip shared a deep and special bond with Macy, built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. She was not only his cherished daughter but also his inspiration and pride.
Kip is also survived by his loving mother, Patricia Glazier; mother-in-law, Norma Dunn; brothers, Marty Glazier (Mitzi) and Randall Glazier (Noke); his loyal dog, Polly Pocket; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Kip’s life was defined by his compassionate heart and his unwavering concern for those less fortunate. Despite struggling with the world’s apathy toward the downtrodden, he remained a beacon of hope and kindness. He was deeply loved and admired by all who knew him.
Kip graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an associate degree in marine biology. He worked environmental protection for the State of North Carolina and other local governments in Wilmington, Raleigh and Durham before returning to Wilmington.
Kip was currently employed by Guest Services at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. His co-workers are deeply saddened by his loss and have been very supportive of him during his illness.
Kip was a man of many talents and passions, including his love for photography. He found joy in capturing the beauty of the world around him, using his lens to tell stories and preserve moments that mattered. His photographs reflected his gentle spirit and unique perspective on life.
A celebration of Kip’s life will be held at a later date to be determined.
