LELAND — With profound sadness and joyful remembrance, we announce the passing of Sharon Ann Franklin, of Leland, NC, who departed this world on December 19, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 25, 1946, in Penn Yan, New York, Sharon blessed us with her presence and love for over seven decades, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Sharon was a devoted woman of faith, committed to her Lord and Savior throughout her life. Her unwavering devotion inspired many, serving as a testament to her strength and grace. She cherished her family above all else, finding joy and contentment in their company. Her family was her rock, and she was theirs—a reliable source of comfort, wisdom, and endless love.
A talented and creative soul, Sharon delighted in knitting intricate patterns that warmed the hearts and bodies of many. Her hands crafted beautiful ceramics, each piece telling a story of artistry and care. Shopping was not just a pastime but an adventure that she embraced with enthusiasm. However, it was the time spent with her loved ones that truly fulfilled her spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Visalli and Alice Pauline Reynolds Visalli; her devoted husband of 25 years, Richard Franklin; her sister, Loretta Husted; a brother, Robert Visalli; her granddaughter, Heather Ramirez; and a great-grandson, Anthony Boyle, Jr.;. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her days.
Sharon’s legacy continues through her surviving children, Robert Larson of Las Vegas, NV; William Larson and his wife, Sagrika of Rome, NY; Antoinette Roundy and her husband, Lester of Leland, NC; and Ann Watters and her husband, Kenneth of Georgia. She also leaves behind her brothers Michael Visalli and his wife, Beverly of Greensboro, AK; Anthony Visalli, Jr. of Mesquite, TX; and Gregory Visalli of Syracuse, NY; and her sisters, Mary Hamilton of Parish, NY, and Deborah Visalli of Solvay, NY. Sharon’s family extends to include 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with countless other family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Sharon’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, allowing all who loved her to honor her memory and the substantial impact she made.
