WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Connors (née Talley), cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born to Alfred J. Talley II and Katharine McMahon Talley on March 7, 1938, Patricia was predeceased by her three siblings: Mary Katherine, Alfred, and John.
On February 18, 1958, Patricia and Eugene Connors were married before soon starting to welcome their six children: Jeanne, Teresa, Patricia, Kathryn, Kevin, and Marianne. As a devoted wife for over 66 years to Eugene, Patricia enjoyed raising her children while starting a fulfilling career in Human Resources at Bloomingdales. Together, they spent many years traveling the world, especially to their most beloved Aruba where they returned annually and made lifelong friendships.
Although diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease early in life, she never let it stop her. With the grateful support of Duke University Hospital’s research, Patricia enjoyed many more years with family, spreading her infectious smile. She was beautiful, kind, smart, and most of all, had the best sense of humor. She will be most remembered for the loving family she created.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Eugene; her daughters Jeanne (Gerard), Teresa (James), Patricia (Joseph), Marianne (John); and her son Kevin (Debbie). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren: Danielle (Michael), Ashley (Matthew), Kaitlin, Matthew, (Nicole) Kelsey (Taylor), Grace, Kelly, (Matthew), Sean, Thomas, Jack, Samuel, Catherine, Bridie Ei, Finnegan and Mia as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
She was the glue that held her family together. Patricia has now embarked on her next adventure with the hope of reuniting with her beloved daughter Kathryn (Gerard), who began her journey with God November 23, 2024.
We welcome all to join the family in celebrating Patricia’s life during an 11 a.m. funeral Mass on January 24, 2025, at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, Wilmington, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in her honor, a foundation close to the family’s hearts, where “Patsy & her Peeps” walked together raising resources for those living with Parkinson’s.
