Rick, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and beloved friend, passed away December 3rd, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a man of extraordinary character, known for his playful humor, unwavering dedication to his family, and overall friendliness.

Rick’s integrity and relentless work ethic were the foundation of a successful 39 year career in the air freight industry, where he earned the respect of colleagues and inspired many as a leader. He took immense pride in providing for his family, ensuring their lives were filled with comfort and opportunity.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Whether it was being a coach, crossing off “honey-do’s”, cultivating a perfect lawn, detailing the family cars, or kicking back and drinking a Heineken, he approached each task with enthusiasm and skill. A natural handyman, he found fulfillment working with his hands and in the satisfaction of a job well done. He was also an avid fisherman and loved being at the ocean. One of his proudest achievements was the year he won the Bluefish Division in the 2022 Pleasure Island Fishing Tournament.

Rick’s love for music, particularly the Dave Matthews Band, was a reflection of his carefree and passionate spirit. A common sight in the Klemann house was Rick pulling up a live DMB concert on Youtube and excitedly requesting anyone around to just listen to this one part. He lived for good times, whether it was a lively gathering with friends and family or quiet moments spent sharing stories and laughter.

As a Husband, Father and Grandfather, Rick was the heart of his family. He led with kindness, youthful wisdom, and an abundance of love, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to call him Dad, Grandpa Ricky, and Friend. His family was his greatest pride, and his legacy will live on in the values he instilled and the memories he created.

Rick will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honor of his life, let us celebrate the joy he brought to the world and strive to carry forward his spirit of hard work, love, and living life to its fullest.

“The summer always ends too soon; Whatever you want, I’ll give you that; But tell me we won’t grow up too fast; Let’s make believe it’s gonna last; Forever doesn’t seem long enough” – “Virginia in the Rain” by Dave Matthews Band

Rest In Peace Rick.
