CAROLINA SHORES — John Milton Barfield passed away peacefully at home in Carolina Shores, NC on October 25th, 2024. He grew up in Ayden, NC and was the only son of Rose and Milton Barfield.
He is survived by his wife, Pam of 40 years, daughter, Leigh Anne Barber (David), granddaughter, Avery Barber, and son, Mike Helms (Ginny).
John had a caring nature and desire to help others, which led him to a career in law enforcement. Later in life, he retired after a long career in the electric supply business. He loved all things outdoors and could often be found fishing or playing golf. However, his greatest passion was riding his motorcycle with his wife Pam. They shared many adventures riding out west.
John will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He will be most remembered as a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity. He left a lasting impact on those who knew him best.
His family extends a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice who devotedly assisted him during his final months of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 23rd at his home, 577 Slippery Rock Way, Carolina Shores, NC between 1 and 4 p.m.
