CAROLINA BEACH — It is with broken hearts we announce Dawn Elizabeth Carriker Wood passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family October 22,2024.
Dawn was born to David and Lois Carriker on February 5, 1969. She was preceded in death by Lois Carriker, Tom and Dee Wood, Caroline, Lucas and many special grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dawn is survived by her daddy, David Carriker, Thomas Wood, her husband of 30 plus years, sister Michelle Brown (Stacy), son, David Wayne Carriker, daughter Erin Rae Burnsed (Jonathan), daughter Abigail Paige Wood, son Thomas Dale Wood, grandchildren Elizabeth, Annabelle, Martin, Lilah, and Oliver. Nieces, Hailey (Zack), Lindsey (Robert Earl), Victoria (Patrick), (Caitlyn (Paul). Great nieces and nephews, Emmett, Colton and Rosemary. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom she cherished. (Ya’ll, we have a big family if you weren’t mentioned please know that she loved each and every one of you).
Dawn was an amazing artist, best friend, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and of course Mrs. Fixit (there was never a project she couldn’t tackle once she set her mind to it). Above all of that, her true joy in life was spending time with her family.
