WILMINGTON — David Chester Frink, 82, of Chadbourn, NC, passed away on Oct. 15, 2024 at Novant Health in Wilmington.
He was born Oct. 26, 1941 to the late Walter Sims Frink and Alice Stephens Frink, a farming family in the Peacocks Crossing community. He was predeceased by his older brothers, Edwin Frink (Renie), Charles Frink (Mildred), John Frink (Marilyn), and his sister, Alice Faye Benton (V.J.).
He liked fast cars and working on motors. He owned and operated Frink’s Garage for 47 years. He really loved his black ‘77 Ford Stepside Truck (1 Million Plus Miles), his ’78 Chevrolet truck, which was a gift from his friend, Leroy Honeycutt, and Corvettes. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, all types of racing, cooking on his pig cooker, fishing for spots, and his Red Man. In his later years he enjoyed his kitty cats, watching old westerns on GRIT, riding his golf cart around town and riding his lawnmower.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Norris Frink, his daughters, Melissa Evans and husband Donn, Georganna Smith and husband Tommy, grandchildren, Taylor Evans (Krissi), Tanner Evans (Lauren), Chase Evans (fiancé Caroline), and great-grandchildren, Greyson, Lily, Emmy and Lucy Evans.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and medical staff who cared for him for the last 5 months of his life in Whiteville and Wilmington. It was his wish to be cremated with no formal funeral. There will be a private celebration of life gathering to be held at a later date.
