HAMPSTEAD — William “Will” Logan Rogers, 33, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Hampstead, North Carolina. Born on August 31, 1991, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Will was the beloved son of Chad and Tania Rogers. From childbirth through high school graduation, he lived in the communities of Apex, NC, St. Simons Island, GA, and Wake Forest, NC.
In 2010, Will graduated from Wakefield High School in Raleigh with an athletic letter in soccer, marking the beginning of a new journey. He matriculated at the University of Mississippi on an out-of-state scholarship, where he thrived academically and personally. After four years of dedication, he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering from Ole Miss. Following his successful completion of the Field Engineering exam and a brief tenure with the USDA, Will returned to Raleigh to pursue further education. He earned a Master’s degree with a focus on watershed management from North Carolina State University’s School of Agriculture and Biological Engineering.
Will commenced his professional career in Civil Engineering with a small firm, choosing a path that allowed him to spend ample time outdoors, reflecting his profound love for nature. His passion for the outdoors extended beyond his profession; he was an avid participant in activities such as boating, canoeing, trail biking, water skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, target shooting, swimming, and kayaking. Will also cherished international travel, embracing diverse cultures and experiences with enthusiasm. Notably, he swam with manatees in Florida and bungee jumped in Ecuador.
Among all his pursuits, none brought him more joy than his role as an uncle to his three-year-old nephew, River. The moments spent with River were among his most treasured, and his love for family was unwavering.
Will is survived by his devoted parents, Chad and Tania Rogers, who reside between Hampstead and Broadway, NC; his sister Lauren, her husband Justin Royal, and their son River, all of Hampstead. He is also survived by his cherished grandfather “Buddy” Rogers, aged 90, residing in Hampstead, and his maternal grandparents, Don and Colette Finger, of the Brookneal, VA area.
