WILMINGTON — Douglas Alan West passed away at his home in Wilmington, NC on September 28, 2024 at the age of 64. He was born in Wilmington, NC on August 14, 1960.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Easterling Godfrey and step-father Billy Godfrey. He was also preceded in death by the step-father that raised him, Albert Farmer.
Doug is survived by his sisters, Alice West Duplissey of Leland, NC and Anita Farmer Clark (David) of York, SC. Although Doug was never married or had children himself, he has four nephews that he loved dearly – Scott Parish, Timothy “TJ” Duplissey, Christopher Parish and Matthew Parish.
Doug will be buried at the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery on Princess Place Drive in Wilmington alongside his beloved great-grandmother Josephine Justice.
There will not be a formal service but a donation may be made in his memory to the ASPCA to honor the love he had for his dogs -Pepper, as well as Bandit and Ellie who crossed the rainbow bridge before him.
