WILMINGTON — Virginia S. Glynn, known affectionately as Ginny, was born on July 18, 1933, to Vincent and Theresa Suellau in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on September 29, 2024, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 91.
Ginny had previously resided in Manhasset, NY, Westhampton, NY, and Johns Island in Vero Beach, FL.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John M. Glynn, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years before his passing in 2021.
Ginny is survived by her four children and their spouses: John Glynn Jr. (Tricia), David Glynn (Laurie), Terry Siegfried (Jay), and Kathy Hannam (Danny). She is also cherished by her four grandchildren: John Siegfried, Julia Glynn, Zachary Dow, and Jack Glynn.
A proud graduate of Manhasset High School, Skidmore College and St. Clare’s Hospital of Nursing, Ginny dedicated her career to nursing at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, NY.
Her move to Wilmington, NC, to be closer to family brought her great joy. Ginny treasured the friendships she made and the time spent with loved ones. She often reminisced about her travels with friends but found her greatest happiness in the simple moments shared with her family, especially her grandchildren.
The family welcomes you to celebrate Ginny’s life at St. Therese Catholic Church, 209 S. Lumina Avenue in Wrightsville Beach, NC on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
