ROCKY POINT — Drew Godfrey Todd, Jr., affectionately known as Andy Todd, passed away on Monday September 23, 2024, in Rocky Point, NC, at the age of 54. Born on February 1, 1970, in Wilmington, NC, Andy lived a vibrant and fullfilling life dedicated to his family, work, and passions.

A proud 1988 graduate of Pender Academy, where he served as class president during his senior year, Andy went on to build a respected career in construction. He worked diligently as a crane operator and carpenter, roles that highlighted his skill, precision, and dedication.

Outside of his professional life, Andy was an avid outdoorsman who cherished the tranquility of fishing. However, his true love was football, a sport that brought him immense joy and camaraderie throughout his life.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents Thomas Francis and Mildred Curley and nephew James Cecil Andrews III.

Andy is survived by his loving girlfriend, Lesley Borneman, and his cherished son, Samuel Wells Todd, and his best friend Canine Grady. He is also remembered fondly by his mother, Lynda Curley Gainey, and his stepfather, Mitchell Gainey, and his sisters, Kimberly T. Guyton and husband Dale, Kelly Andrews-Asp and husband Robert, Adrienne Enyart and husband Jon, brothers, James (Jamie) Andrews II and Mitchell Gainey and wife Emmy. His memory will also be treasured by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Cousins and friends.

A memorial service to honor Andy’s life will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Masonboro Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Andy Todd’s legacy is one of hard work, heartfelt passion, and unwavering love for those he held dear. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
