WILMINGTON — After a long (98 years), fruitful and wonderful life Faye Futch Hamilton passed peacefully at her Brightmore home in Wilmington on Friday, September 13, 2024.
She was born November 13, 1925, in Pender County, the daughter of Clyde Futch, Sr. and Marie Pridgen Futch. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, William Carroll Hamilton; son-in-law, William Lawrence Blanton, Jr.; sister, Inez Futch Vick; and brothers, Gordon Futch and Clyde “Tom” Futch, Jr.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Janet Hamilton Blanton of Wilmington; grandsons, Lawrence Blanton and wife, Alex and James Blanton and wife, Caroline; great grandchildren, Finley, Wyatt, Maddie, Baxter and Marni Blanton; brother, Gregg Futch and wife, Sharon; sister-in-law, Lark Futch; several nieces and nephews; many extended family members and friends.
She was a faithful longtime member of Winter Park Baptist Church where she was very committed and active until her health began to decline. Faye was truly a giver in life, active in the communities in which she lived – Atkinson in her younger years and most recently in Wilmington.
Faye was a true Southern lady, always knew the right way to lend help, the correct words to speak, and most of all she was gracious, thankful and kind. In her 98 years, Faye touched many lives in a very positive way. Faye’s presence in our lives will be forever missed but we find solace in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing with her Almighty Father.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial gift to a charity of your choice or take time to do a special kindness for someone while remembering a happy memory of Faye.
