WILMINGTON — Eleanor G. Keeton-Weiss, 100, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024.

She was born January 25, 1924, in Stoney Point, Ontario, Cananda, to the late Joseph and Adeline Reaume.

Eleanor was the youngest of Joseph and Adeline Reaume’s 11 children. She was born and raised on the family farm in Canada.

She married David Keeton in 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, and together they had four children. After David’s passing, she relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1988, and married Moe Weiss in 1990. Eleanor loved to cook, knit, read and listen to Jazz/Classical music. She was an exceptional hostess always ready to welcome everyone into her home. She was well-loved by all and lived a long, joyous life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, David H. Keeton and Moe Weiss.

Eleanor is survived by her four children, Edward D. Keeton (Meg) Kathleen A. Keeton, Marilynn R. Schimizzi (Greg) and Jeanne M. Chalmers (Guy) ; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; and extended family, Roger Weiss and Mark Weiss.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bradley Creek Health Center and Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for their kind and excellent care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and details will be updated soon.
