LELAND — Kristie Lee Sturgill Blake, 38, of Leland passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Born in Wilmington on August 31, 1985, she was the daughter of David and Virginia “Kay” Sturgill of Leland and Teresa Artrip Morgan of Virginia. She was the widow of Scott D. Blake who passed away in 2019.
Kristie enjoyed working at the Piggly Wiggly in Leland as the office manager. She loved to go to the beach and read books. She liked watching game shows and had a fascination with horror movies since she was a young girl. She enjoyed baking sweet treats and cooking. And if you knew Kristie, you would know the thing she cherished most was her mother-daughter time with her daughter, Hailey, especially when they were cooking with recipes from the Sturgill Family Cookbook!
In addition to her parents, David and Kay Sturgill and her daughter, Hailey Jane Blake, she also leaves; her stepdaughter, Lily Blake; brothers, David Allen Sturgill, Dustan Morgan and his fiancée, Kristin Yow; PJ Hicks, Anothony Williams and Nicholas Williams, her nephew, Justin Morgan and his fiancée, Vanessa Palacios and great-nephew, Jaxson; as well as her best friend, Shannon Hinkle. Kristie also leaves many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her Piggly Wiggly Family.
