Caroline Fleming Faison, 86

Caroline Fleming Faison (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Caroline Fleming Faison died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Wilmington NC on August 3, 2024.

She was born in West Virginia on July 5th, 1938, the daughter of William Fleming and Mary Virginia Highland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston D. Faison, and survived by four children, Kimberly Faison of Richmond Virginia, Melissa Miley of Wilmington North Carolina, Thomas Faison of Washington DC, and Elsie Shields of Wilmington North Carolina, along with ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

There was only one Caroline. And anyone who ever crossed her path felt something special in the air. This was true for strangers and old friends alike, and with just a wink, the first would quickly become the second.

Caroline was famous on the East Coast as an antiques dealer with an inimitable style, and unmatched eye for beauty. She could arrange a lump of coal in such a way that would thrill its new owners. It was never the piece however, but how Caroline made her clients feel, which always sealed the deal. Her shop was more a gathering place than store, and those who visited would rarely have the same experience twice. Her extensive travel throughout Europe filled its rooms with treasures for more than half a century, but her true success will be measured by countless small acts of kindness and generosity to which others attribute their own personal and professional successes.

A memorial funeral service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on August 28, 2024, in the chapel at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N Greene Street, Greensboro NC, 27401. Reception to follow at the church.

The family requests that any memorials be made to:
