WILMINGTON — Coleman Lee Maready, born on February 4, 1944, in Duplin County, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, NC on July 13, 2024, at the age of 80.
A dedicated and diligent individual, Coleman was a proud graduate of UNC-Wilmington, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He went on to have a fulfilling career as an accountant, a profession from which he eventually retired.
Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Overman Maready and Corinne Casteen Maready; his sister, Joan M. Cobb; and his brother, Gerald M. Maready.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna Faye Ruse, of the home, son Alan Maready, daughter Stephanie Maready. Coleman also leaves behind his brothers, Jack Maready and his wife Margaret, and Kenan Maready and his wife Millie, sister Sudie M. Goldston, his grandson Tristan Carver as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
The family will receive friends at Wilmington Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. His cremains will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery.
Coleman will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
