WILMINGTON — Billy LeGran Watts 81,of Wilmington, NC, died June 5, 2024 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Joseph Steadman and Bonnie Clyde Watts.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Golden Darrell Watts, Luther Ronnie Deal, Daley Watts and Joe Propst: Sisters; Mary Lou Siratt, Darla Dean Diamond and Vera Elaine Neal. Step-mother; Irene Watts and step-brothers Donald Rivenbark & Joe Rivenbark.
Billy retired from Lowe’s Company as a Master Warehouse Manager.
He is survived by his beloved wife of (54 years), Marsha Coley Watts of the home; one brother; Rocky G. Watts and wife Joy of Currie, N.C.
Sister-in-laws; Tina C. Chambers and husband Roy of Norwood, N.C., Jenny Propst of Hickory ,N.C., Brenda Deal Troutman of Statesville, N.C., Nina Watts of Burgaw, NC; Brother-in-law; Patrick Siratt of Long, SC.& step-sister, Carolyn Wals
Many special nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and treasured friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday June 8, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation at 1535 S. 41st Street. No funeral service (requested by Billy). Private burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
Billy always enjoyed helping others and upon his request to donate the gift of life through organ donation.
“Billy, my heart was crushed when you left me, but I know you’re in no more pain. You were always my precious gift from God; so much love, caring and giving. Each time I look up at the beautiful clouds, I will feel your love and protection. Always remember, Billy, we will meet again in heaven someday and never be apart darling. Your loving wife, Marsha.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
