WILMINGTON — Gary L. Clark, age 65, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family.
Public viewing will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.
A celebration of Mr. Clark’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 514 S College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28403.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Clark was born August 24, 1958 in Quantico, Virginia to Luther and Geneva Clark. Gary could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He obtained a purple belt in karate, served one term in the U.S. Army, and completed his education at St. Augustine’s University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Gary was an avid reader, faithful follower of Christ and an avid sports fan. He loved to dress like a GQ model, always wearing nice suits, ties, and shoes.Through the years he had many jobs, having worked in security, food service and massage therapy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Luther S. Clark.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Geneva Clark of Wilmington; brother, Daryl Clark (Cynthia) of Morrisville, PA; nephews, Anthony Clark of Bristol, PA and David Clark of Morrisville, PA; a special devoted cousin, Ladavonda Synice Marbley of Wilmington and a host of other relatives and friends.
