WILMINGTON — R.L. Jackson, 77, from Bakersfield, CA but currently a resident of Wilmington, NC passed away on October 22nd, 2023 from heart complications.
R.L. worked for Dolly Madison/ Hostess as a route man for 25 plus years and retired. He had a passion for his 1965 Mustang Fastback.
He was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. R.L. had an excellent sense of humor and always made people laugh even if he did not feel well. He was the king of sarcasm. R.L. showed his love in many ways and always made sure everyone was taken care of.
R.L. served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. R.L. has two best friends since childhood John (Jack) Sullivan and Jim Bailey who are still here for the family. Their friendship is more than special, they were brothers, thick as thieves.
R.L. is preceded in death by his father Ralph Jackson, mother Nannie Jackson, his sister Patsy Harris & grandson Dustin Thompson.
R.L. leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Jackson, his son and daughter in law, Robert & Melissa Jackson, his daughter Tamatha Jackson, his grandson and granddaughter in law Trentyn & Sarah Pues, his grandson Anthony Patti, his granddaughter Jennifer Patti, his great granddaughter Presleigh Sholar, and his niece Doris Dimaggio and many other loved ones and family.
