WILMINGTON — Richard Earl Dauphinais went to be with our Heavenly Father August 1, 2023 peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare.
Richard fought a long, hard battle with cancer. He is now rejoicing and whole in the arms of our Lord and savior.
To know Richard was to love him. He was kind and, generous, and had a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends deeply and will truly be missed.
Richard is survived by his daughter Andres Etheridge (Charles), a very special niece, Ann Marie Moure (Brian), grandchildren Kristen, Jaley, Adam, Abigail, Kaylee and Jaiden. Great-grandchildren, Remy, Coraline and Ophelia, his brothers Roland and Pete, sister Linda and many nieces and nephews, which he loved dearly.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Nellie Skipper Dauphinais and Albert Nelson Dauphinais, daughters Cynthia Dauphinais and Sonia Thornton.
To Richard’s very special friends, Steve and Denise Stady, he loved you dearly and we all appreciate you being there for him every step of the way.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare: home side nurses and care center staff. He was provided with the utmost dignity and care in the last stages of his life.
A gathering of friends will be held Saturday August 19, 2023 from 2 to 3 pm at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation.
