WILMINGTON — Frank was born on a farm near Brownsville, Tennessee, on September 8, 1932. In 1959 he graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law at Knoxville where he met his wife of 62 years, Geneva. Frank served in the Army deciphering Morse.

After marrying in 1960, Frank and Geneva lived in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where in the first year of their marriage Frank drew up the legal papers for Oak Ridge to become incorporated.

In 1961 the Reids moved to Memphis, Tennessee, for Frank to join a law firm there and where he earned his Master’s Degree in History from the University of Memphis. Frank then served in the Bankruptcy Court but soon found his true calling as Clerk of the Federal Court and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1992.

The subsequent years he spent volunteering countless hours for non-profit organizations such as Head Start, Children’s Museum, local elementary schools, WHQR, and Meals on Wheels.

Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geneva, his children, Phillip Frank Reid (Andrea Payne Reid) and Diane Reid Snow (Craig Evan Snow) and his grandson, Benjamin Evan Snow.

Memorial services will be held at Church of the Servant, Thursday, June 29, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Cape Fear Literacy Council, Nourish NC, or donor’s choice.
