SOUTHPORT — Marvin Fullwood, age 88, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Mr. Fullwood was born June 26, 1934 in Southport, son of the late Louis Oliver Fullwood and Josie Varnum Fullwood. He was retired from the US Air Force having served in the Vietnam Conflict and earning the Purple Heart in 1970. Upon his retirement in 1973, Mr. Fullwood chose to be a self-employed businessman and opened and ran several different businesses. These businesses included Randal’s Shoes, The Sandbar Lounge, and The Fullwood Office Building.
Survivors include his wife, Altburg Marie Fullwood; and his five children, Daniel Fullwood, Douglas Fullwood, Deborah Fullwood, Randal Fullwood, and Renee Marie Fullwood. He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Louis Herbert Fullwood, Leon Fullwood, Leroy Fullwood, and Joseph Fullwood; and a sister, Marie Elizabeth Oeschger.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.
