KURE BEACH — Marian Louise Sykes Loy, 80, of Kure Beach, passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born, May 8, 1942, in Alamance County, North Carolina.
Marian Loy was one of three girls born to Charlies Sykes and Violet Jones. She grew up in Burlington North Carolina and graduated from Walter Williams High School in Burlington. Marian married the love of her life on January 21, 1961. They spent many happy years raising their two sons, Greg and Todd. Jerry and Marian moved to Kure Beach in 2000 to enjoy their retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Loy; son, Greg Loy and fiancée Roxanna Rice; son, Todd Loy and wife Renee Loy and granddaughters, Caimile and Melissa.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Friday, August 26, 2022, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd. The family will receive visitors one hour prior, beginning at 2.
