Essie was born on October 26, 1935, to the late Jack and Katie Cole and was raised with five sisters and one brother. She was a very gentle, caring soul and wonderful wife, mother, and grandma. Essie had a strong dedication to her family throughout her life and leaves behind a lasting imprint on our hearts forever. We will cherish her memory and bright smile.
She was a lifelong member of Burgaw Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Essie leaves behind many cherished friends from Burgaw and Hampstead.
The family would like to thank the Davis Community at Porters Neck and the Lightkeepers for their care and compassion over the last year of her life. They were true angels, and we are forever grateful. She felt loved and at home there. Also thank you to Lower Cape Fear Life care for their guidance and help through this journey. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Burgaw Baptist Church or Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
