ROCKY POINT — Sam Bennett, 74, of Rocky Point, peacefully passed away at his home, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, after a long battle with leukemia.
He was born in Wilmington, son of the late Samuel L Bennett, Sr. and Judy Bennett.
After teaching school for a few years, he spent the remainder of his career as a custom house broker.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Kelly Bennett; daughter, Yvette Mays and husband Glen; sons, Kyle Bennett and Brandon Bennett and three grandchildren, Halen Mays and Brook and Brian Bennett.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Wednesday, October 13, at Andrews Market Street Chapel, with Pastor Dodd Mays officiating.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior, beginning at 1pm.
Burial will follow the service at 3:30pm, at Mercer Cemetery in Bolivia.
