WILMINGTON — David Passmore, age 76, of Wilmington, NC, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fairdale, PA. on December 17, 1944, to Franklin Buddy and Clara Jane Cronk Passmore.
Dave “drove truck”. That’s what he would say. His career in trucking spanned almost 60 years and he received numerous awards, finally retiring in 2014.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Dean Passmore. His sons: Brandon (Gloria) Passmore of Venice, Florida, Christopher (Kara) Passmore of Rochester, MN., Corey (Deborah) Cox of Honey Brook, PA. and John (Heather) Cox of Wilmington, NC. Special daughter, Kathy Gabel Carroll of Mountain Home, AR. His brothers: Gary Passmore of Montrose, PA. and Corey Passmore of West Palm Beach, FL. Sister: Janis (Ronald) Hollenbeck of Montrose, PA., and mother-in-law Josephine Dean of Montrose, PA. Eight grandchildren, Whitney (Joshua), Taylor (Jodie), Tammy, Megan, Bradley, Christopher, Kayla, Jacob (Katie) and Olivia. Five great-grandchildren: Riley, Kaden, Brielle, Connor, Berkley and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey, son-in-law, David McLean, sisters-in -law, Margaret Egan and Deborah Passmore, brother-in-law, Michael Griggs, grandsons, Paul Allen and Corey Cox and life-long friend, Ken Griffis.
As per David’s request, there will be a memorial in Montrose, PA at the convenience of the family.
