WILMINGTON — Adam Donathan, 42, of Wilmington, NC entered the more immediate presence of the Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. He was born in Wilmington, NC on April 11, 1979 in New Hanover County to Danny and Priscilla Donathan.
Adam was a lifelong resident of Wilmington, and a lover of the waters that surround us. He spent his life on the Intracoastal Waterway and worked hard as a commercial fisherman. He spent his days laboring the low tide creeks and areas where many of us have never seen. He was a forever steward of the Masonboro Sound and Island and was always willing to lend a helping hand. The only thing he loved more than being out on the water was being a father to his two sons, Coleman and Reece. Adam was a wonderful son, brother, father, and a friend to many.
Adam was a talented athlete and played soccer on the Varsity soccer team for JT Hoggard and the ’79 Hammers Travel Team.
Adam is survived by his wife, Leslie Donathan; sons, Coleman and Reece; Canine companion, Scout; brother, Robert Donathan; nieces, Madison and Alex; parents, Danny and Priscilla Donathan; plus his favorite aunt and cousins, Aunt Beb, Lori and Amanda.
A memeorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Covenant Moravian Church, 4126 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made.
