Bernadette ‘Bee’ Thomasson, 63, encouraged laughter with her quirky sense of humor

WILMINGTON — Bernadette “Bee” Thomasson, 63, formerly of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1957, in Hudson, New York, to the late William Joseph LoPorto and Mary Cecilia Bourgeois LoPorto.

Bee liked to crochet, and she also enjoyed spending time with her family. Before moving to Wilmington, she attended Mountain View Community Church in Culpeper, Virginia. Bee could always make people laugh with her quirky sense of humor. She was a bright light to many people and will be dearly missed.

Bee was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Thomasson; and sister, Terri Vigotti.

Bee is survived by her son, Edgar “Eddie” Thomasson, and his wife, Tamika; daughters, Amanda Rue, and her husband, Elliot, Emmily Brown, and her husband, Seth, and Lacey Thomasson; brother, Joseph LoPorto, and his wife, Michelle; sisters, Anna Papa, and her husband, Frankie, and Christina Culbertson; grandchildren, Malcolm, Jessica, Tia, Desiree, Michael, Joey, Hunter, Allison, Zach, Landen, Gwen and Reese; five great-grandchildren; and BFF, Cindy Griffin.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Tuesday, July 20, at Amanda Rue’s house, 5007 Clear Run Drive, Wilmington.
