Dixie Annette Moen, 72, longtime cosmetician and hairdresser known for her bright spirit

WILMINGTON — Dixie Annette Moen, 72, escaped this mortal plain, following a prolonged time of illness, and crossed over into the promise of her most excellent reward in heaven Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Dixie was born Nov. 2, 1948, and is survived by her mother Eva; and Eva’s husband, Donny Cannon. She also leaves behind her beloved family, among whom are her daughter, Whitney Reynolds, and her husband, Micheal; grandchildren, Damian Reynolds and Danielle Guimares; one great-grandson, Zaire Manley, as well as her dear sister, Dawn Moltumyr, and family. A friend to many and beloved by all, she was a New Hanover High School graduate, and became a well-known cosmetician and hairdresser in the Wilmington region.

All who knew Dixie, knew her for her beauty, her bright spirit, her deeply caring attitude, as well as her open and friendly personality. Her friends will remember her as loyal, establishing and faithfully maintaining many long-lasting relationships throughout the years. All of us feel blessed and privileged, thanking God for giving us all a season in her path, whether it was short or long. She will be surely be missed and remembered, and those memories will not wane, but become ever sweeter as time goes on.
