She was a member of Hampstead Methodist Church and was heavily involved in events with them.

Doris loved to cook, help with teas and participate in social events with the church, in which there were many in her years of service. Her friends and family meant the world to her and she enjoyed being active in the community in which she lived. Doris also instilled lifelong values and lessons in her children, those in which she learned from her parents, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are now being taught by their parents. Those lessons involved being independent and always finding a way to provide, even when the going may get tough. Doris will live on in the hearts of those who carry her lifelong lessons with them.
