Myrtle Johnson Holt, 78, enjoyed traveling to the mountains

HAMPSTEAD — Myrtle Johnson Holt, 78, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. She was born April 21, 1942, in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Johnson and Matilda Watters Johnson.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, who she was married to for 60 years, Donald Rex Holt Sr.

She enjoyed traveling to the mountains with her husband or just taking a simple “ride” around town. She loved time spent with family and friends. Oh, and don’t forget her red lipstick before she could go anywhere, as that was a must. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, who she loved very much, two sons, Donnie Holt and Jimmy Holt (Amy); daughter, Wendy Rocha (Robert).; four grandchildren, Kelly Braun (Rick), Alex Holt, Erin Prosser and Hunter Sutton; two great-grandchildren, Hanna Holt and Harper Holt; sister, Ann King; niece, Cindy Caulkin (Brant); and nephew, Johnny Covil.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 5, at Virginia Creek Ministries.
