WILMINGTON — Jillian Rae Phillips, 32, suddenly passed away Monday, March 22, 2021. She was a devoted and loving mother to her son Nolan. She treasured Nolan and embraced every moment with him.
She especially loved being a daughter, sister, aunt and friend to anyone she met. Jillian had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh and smile. Jillian loved her home at the beach in Wilmington, as well as where she was born in New York.
Jillian worked hard with her Aunt Betsy Phillips at Monticello and the Meadowlands harness racetrack. She became a certified groom for the horses, and with her Aunt Betsy’s guidance, she climbed the ranks in harness racing. She will always be loved and missed by her many friends in New York, Wilmington and Holden Beach.
Jillian was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Oswald Phillips; and paternal grandparents, Peter Sienkwicz, Susanna Sienkwicz and Thomas Sienkwicz.
Jillian is survived by her son, Nolan Privette; parents, Joy Ann Lloyd and Herman Phillips; Joy’s former husband, Wayne Lloyd, who loved Jillian as if she were his own; brothers, Kyle (Jenna) Phillips and Todd Quimby; maternal grandmother, Louise Phillips; and nephews, Kain, Colton, Riggin and Knox.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28, at Pine Valley Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:30 p.m.
