WILMINGTON — Stephen Michael Kempton, 56, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Stephen was born June 3, 1964.
Stephen was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He was an avid NASCAR fan, gardener and enjoyed watching football. He loved fishing, cooking and grilling with his nephew, Cody. Stephen was greatly loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Keith Kempton.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his parents, Dean and Elizabeth Roberts Kempton; sister, Lisa Kempton Tolar; two nephews, Travis Tolar and Cody Grifford; great-nephew, Joshua; great-niece, MaKenzie; precious dog, Peanut. Also surviving are his son, Michael; and daughter, Kristen.
The family will see friends at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 14, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Services will immediately follow visitation at 2 p.m.
