WILMINGTON — James William Bolick Jr., 77, known to friends and family as “Jim” or “Jimmy,” went to be with Jesus Wednesday, March 10, 2021, after suffering a sudden stroke.
Jim was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Greensboro to the late James William Sr. and Doris Bolick.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rita; stepmother, Janet; sister, Sharrell Ellis (Harvey); children, Jay (Karen), Tanya Bierwiler (Scott) and Keith (Carla); stepchildren, Mark (Brenna), Randy and Eric Kratzer; grandchildren, Ashley Flynn (James), Ryan (Brinnae), Morgan, Rachel, Hannah, Tanya Renee, Morgan Winkleman (Tyler) and Scott Kratzer (Cara); and two great-grandchildren.
His passions were music, being outdoors, technology, his faith and family. He was genuinely compassionate and had a servant’s heart. He served his community, church and family relentlessly as an Eagle Scout, by singing in the choir, through missions, by serving on committees and as an elder.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 14, at Little Chapel on the Boardwalk. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation. Graveside services will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
