OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Wilton Lee Sellers, 64, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Born Jan. 31, 1957, in Columbus County, he was a son of the late John W. Sellers and Carrie Ward Sellers Beasley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John “Buddy” Sellers; and nephew, Wesley Sellers.
He graduated from the Hallsboro High School in 1975 and later served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 until 1988. Wilton was a devout born-again Christian and spent his life witnessing and serving the Lord that he loved with all his heart. He was also a longtime member of Ocean View Baptist Church, where he was previously a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and active in several other church positions.
Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Debbie Mincey Sellers of the home; daughter, April Sellers Canady, and her husband, John, of Shallotte; God-given granddaughter, Mercy Thompson Helms; sisters, Louise Mears of Wallace and Gail Bass, and her husband, Larry, of Emporia, Virginia; brother, Bobby Ray Sellers of Whiteville; special family friend, Sheila Blackwell; and many brothers and sisters in Christ at Ocean View Baptist Church.
A celebration of life will be held at Ocean View Baptist Church and announced at a future date.
