WILMINGTON — Antonia Motta Foy, 93, peacefully passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at the Davis Community at Porters Neck.
She was born June 4, 1927, in Catanzaro, Italy, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Grasso Motta. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Otto Foy, who she met and married in Italy while he was serving in the military. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 as a war bride full of fun, laughter and excitement, where she never met a stranger and continued to carry those qualities with her throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Sognia Weiss, and her husband, Steve, of Wilmington; grandsons, Charlie Weiss of Winterville and Nathaniel Weiss, and his wife, Amanda; and great-granddaughter, Harper Weiss of Concord.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 4, at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
