WILMINGTON — Carol “Becky” O’Shields Craig, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 2, 1939, in Wilmington. She was the daughter of Claud and Ethel O’Shields.
She graduated from Bowman Gray School of Nursing and retired from New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church, Wrightsboro.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her niece, Samantha O’Shields.
She is survived by her significant other, Chuck T. Hardwick; two daughters, Carolyn Marie Craig (Mary Brown) and Dawn Craig Potter (Charles Audet); grandchildren, Heather Reynolds (Dennis Albright) and Michael Potter (Jeanna Potter); great-grandchildren, Skyler Durham, Major Bryant, Pearla Bryant and Adrianna Potter; sister, Maureen Hunter (Danny Hunter); brothers, Buck O’Shields (Judy O’Shields) and Sammy O’Shields (Gay O’Shields); and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 11, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
