Maserine ‘Frances’ Lennon Bridgers

WILMINGTON — Maserine “Frances” Lennon Bridgers, 87, went to be with the Lord at sunrise the morning of Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020. The most important things in her life were her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family, both of whom she loved with all of her heart, mind and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew James Jacobs and Ella Hatcher Jacobs; all of her siblings, Lester Jacobs, John Jacobs and Glandola (Gwen) Jacobs Coleman; first and second husbands, John Moore Lennon and Alfred David Bridgers, respectively; daughter, Helen Elizabeth Lennon Robison; and grandchildren, Kelly Lennon Weaver and Brett Glidden.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, John Wayne Lennon (Catherine); daughter, Betty Jane Lennon Free (Martin); and 41 grandchildren (seven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren).

The family will receive loved ones and friends at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, at Peace Baptist Church, 320 Military Cutoff Road, Wilmington. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow services at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
