CALABASH — Brenda Nell Johnston McLeod, 78, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1942, the daughter of the late William Henry Johnston and Leola Core Johnston. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda J. May; and two brothers, Charles O. Johnston and Billy M. Johnston.
Mrs. McLeod loved the Lord and loved to use her voice to sing his praises. She was affiliated with Avon for many years.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Steven H. McLeod of the home; two sons, Steven Harold McLeod Jr. of Ocean Isle Beach and Craig Dejon McLeod, and his wife, Kimberly, of Falling Waters, West Virginia; sister, Sheila J. Williams, and her husband, Frank, of Eastover; sister-in-law, Jenny Ruth Johnston of Erwin; four grandchildren, Jacksen McLeod, Jared McLeod, Tyler McLeod and Jenna McLeod; nieces, Deborah Letchworth, Lynne West and Dina Price ; nephews, Warren H. May Jr., Billy May, Jerry May, Jeff May, Timothy Johnston, Curtis Johnston and Wayne Johnston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, at Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel with the Rev. Rick Holly officiating. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
