SHALLOTTE — Thomas Hugh Underwood Jr., 94, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Durham, he was the son of the late Thomas Hugh Underwood Sr. and Mary Hawtense Strickland Underwood.
He was a retired engineer with R&D Food Packaging and veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie C. Underwood.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Hugh Underwood III (Carol) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, at Calvary Baptist Church, Shallotte, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Needham. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte.
