HAMPSTEAD — Hardin Busby Crouch, 89, was born June 7, 1931, to Chesley and Mary Ina Crouch in Hoke County. He departed this world Friday, July 24, 2020, to be with the love of his life, Juanita Crouch, who preceded him in death by only 3 months and 10 days. Hardin and Juanita were married for 36 years.
Hardin had a full life and many family members, to include his brothers, Ernest Crouch (Southern Pines) and Chesley Crouch Jr., who preceded him in death. His sisters, Bucilla Corbett and Cora Lee Hodgson, also preceded him in death.
Hardin is survived by his daughters, Gail Hardin (Keith) of Carthage and Beth Lewis (Danny) of Hampstead; and sons, Tony Morris and Andy Morris (Toy), both of Hampstead. Hardin was preceded in death by two children, Dale Crouch (son) and Robin Crouch (daughter). Hardin had nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Hardin grew up in the Ashley Heights community and was a proficient farmer. He could grow anything. He was an avid fisherman and moved to Topsail Beach when he retired in 1981. Once he met Juanita, his life truly began.
A small memorial service for him and Juanita (COVID-19 delayed) will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 31, at Andrews Mortuary, Hampstead. Thank you for wearing masks, as social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Hardin’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
