Daniel Roy ‘Dan’ Waltman, 55, enjoyed a fulfilling career in information technology

DURHAM — Daniel Roy ‘Dan’ Waltman, 55, “Chip,” to his family and friends, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020.

Dan was born in Heidelberg, Germany. He graduated from John T. Hoggard High School, Wilmington, and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from UNCW, Wilmington. He had a great career in I.T., working for several companies throughout his career, with his last employer being Epsco Information Services, based out of Ipswich, Massachusetts.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jamey Waltman; paternal and maternal grandparents.

Dan is lovingly remembered by his parents, Royie and Edith Waltman; sisters, Judy Holland, and her husband, David Holland, of Rocky Point, Debra Waltman of Sacramento, California; nieces, Amanda Cooper of Wilmington, Zoe Olson and Eliot Olson, both of Sacramento, California, Kristen Blanchard of Durham and Amanda Theel of Garner; nephews, Tim Weyers Jr. of Clayton and Jacob Waltman of Wilmington; great-niece, Isabella Cancro; and great-nephews, Noah Cooper and Harrison Theel. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Daniel was a great friend, loving son, awesome brother, cool uncle and truly loved his family! Those who knew him would say he was the most kind, loving, generous, fun, intelligent man they knew!

Graveside funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, July 2, at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Barnard officiating.
