HAMPSTEAD — Donald Wayne Garner, 62, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
He was born Jan. 3, 1958, in New Hanover County to the late Zobie Dan Garner and Eula (Campfield) Garner.
Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Donald loved his boat and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dog.
Donald is survived by his wife, Robin Ann (Barnette) Garner; daughters, Shannon Rinko, and her husband, Chad, and Leslie Lewis, and her husband, Blake; brother, Richard Garner; sister, Debbie Lamb, and her husband, David; grandchildren, Kimber Rinko, Bentley Rinko and Beau Lewis; his beloved dog, Boujee Lou; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, March 2, at Castle Hayne Advent Christian Church, 2710 Hermitage Road, Castle Hayne. The family will receive friends at their house following the service.
