Charlene Delores Efting, 88, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to with her Lord Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, after a long battle with dementia. Charlene was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Mason, Michigan, to Vivian and Charles Gladstone.
After raising her four children, Charlene had a long successful career in real estate. Her accomplishments included Realtor of the Year and president of the Wilmington Board of Realtors. Her optimism, humility and honest sweetness were rewarded with much love from family, friends and customers.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
She is survived by her four children, Mike Efting, and his wife, Lisa, of Frisco, Texas, Cheryl Kilborn of Raleigh, Alan Efting, and his wife, Jeannine, of Wilmington and Doug Efting, and his wife, Brigitte, of Wilmington; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Gladstone, and his wife, Sandi, of Rotanda West, Florida, and Gary Gladstone, and his wife, Sue Gladstone, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; along with many nieces and nephews.
A visitation of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington.
