
WILMINGTON — Eldridge Junior Ward, 84, went to meet the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, with his family by his side at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
Eldridge was born Aug. 24, 1935, in Chadbourn, North Carolina, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Rosa Bell Ward. He is a longtime member of Brookfield Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and mother of his three children, Louise “Mema” Ward; and one grandson, William Wilson Ward Jr.
Eldridge is survived by three children, William Ward (Samantha), Rosa Morgan (Alan) and Margie Midgette (Rich); and one brother, Billy Ward (Modena) of Cleburne, Texas. “Pepa” is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, Oleander Drive. A memorial service will follow visitation at 2:30 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow services at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Jerry Andrews will be officiating the service.
