LELAND — Benjamin Bruce “B.B.” Fields Sr., 59, of Lake Norman Lane, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Fields was born April 14, 1960, in Dade County, Florida, the son of Heawig Masberger (Heidi Fields) and the late Eugene Fields.

In addition to his mother, Heidi Fields, Mr. Fields is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah (Harrison) Fields; son, Benjamin Bruce Fields Jr.; one daughter, Amy Lynn Pederson, and her fiancé, Christopher David Kelly; three grandchildren who adored and loved him more than he will ever know, Landen Michael Pederson, age 12, Carter David Kelly, age 4, and he finally got his baby girl granddaughter on Sept. 11, 2018, Pailynn Reign Kelly, 8 months of age. Mr. Fields had one sister, Velma Pizzuto (deceased); and two brothers, George Nowack of The Cayman Islands and Ketrick (Bugsy) Fields. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, Heather Marie Miller, Hayley Brooke Allen, Heidi Pizzutto, Dominick Pizzuto, Timothy Harrison, Kaci Harrison and Amber Harrison; several great-nieces and great-nephews; loving sister-in-law, Pamela Allen, and her soul mate, Matt Murphy; brothers-in-law, Ray Harrison, and his wife, Vernette, and Noah Harrison, and his wife, Jennifer; and all of the Lovitt family and friends, his dealers/car co-workers and friends across Wilmington.

Mr. Fields was the head supervisor for Lovitt’s Auto Sales and Lovitt Motor Company since the Lovitt brothers joined together and opened the dealership. Mr. Fields dedicated most of his time of 48 years working for the Lovitts. His customers know him as “B.B.,” and he was the best car salesman in Wilmington. First to arrive, and the last to leave.

Above all, his family loved him dearly. He was the most wonderful husband and father you could ask for. He always made sure everyone and anyone had what they needed, even if he didn’t. He loved his Michelob Ultra beer in the afternoons, coming home to play with his grandchildren, and, most of all, his wife.

If he could say one thing right now, it would be, “imagine that!” Rest now daddy, you don’t have to worry and fly high with your sister. We will all be together in God’s heaven one day. We love you.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m, Wednesday, May 22, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at the funeral home.
